Team Builders


10 people, 8 hours, 4 walls, unlimited hope!

Take a day to get out of the office and into the community! Team Builders is designed especially for corporate groups to come together for a day of team building and house building with Habitat for Humanity Portland/Metro East.

This combination of volunteer hours and a financial donation doubles your group's impact toward our mission of providing affordable homeownership opportunities in Portland.

By the end of a Team Builders day, your group will be connected with each other, and with the community, in a truly unique way. The satisfaction that comes from working with your hands will leave your group motivated and exhilarated.

With Team Builders, your group will:

Have a fun, productive day. Through building a home together, your group will learn how to communicate, cooperate and problem-solve to get the job done.  Construction provides natural team-building opportunities that encourage communication, team problem-solving, and leadership experiences.

Experience the joy of giving back to the community. Your group will feel great about directly helping some hard-working families escape substandard housing.

Receive recognition as a Habitat for Humanity Portland/Metro East “Team Builders” partner. We’ll feature your group’s day of service on our web site and in our annual report—and you’ll receive a special group photo of your team’s day on-site!

No previous construction experience is necessary; just a willingness for your group to work together as a team to help your community. Commonly Asked Questions

What days are available to volunteer?
We build every Wednesday through Saturday, from 8:30am to 4:00pm.

Can we just work a half-day?
For maximum efficiency and productivity, we require that all Team Builders groups work a full day. You’ll be amazed at how fast the day will fly by!

Describe a typical “Team  Builders” day.
Every day is different — your team could be framing, painting, siding, insulating or installing windows!  Your group is welcome to take breaks during the day, and everyone breaks for lunch around noontime.

How much does it cost?
To participate in Team Builders, there is a $2500 fee for a team of 10 people, which is a tax-deductible contribution to Habitat for Humanity Portland/Metro East. This donation means that your group will fund the skilled supervision, tools, and building materials for the day.
